Temin is named after Dr. Howard Temin, a Nobel prize-winning biologist who made major discoveries at UW-Madison. The lakeshore path in Madison, a favorite destination of Vijay and his mother winding along Lake Mendota, is also named in honor of Dr. Temin. Temin shares his middle name with Charles McBride, Vijay’s maternal grandfather.
